The colors of Autumn decorate the top of Central Pennsylvania's Blue Knob Mountain on a soft October afternoon. As we stroll along Jack Rabbit Trail, instead of seeing the golden grasses we start thinking of the feet-deep snow that will soon blanket the landscape, bringing excited skiers and snowboarders zooming past. Even with storm clouds rolling in, the magic of the Laurel Highlands is breathtaking.
The hiking is glorious ... but truth be told, it's very, very steep just over that hill there ... and coming back up again takes stamina and determination!!!! Not to mention, keeping a sharp eye out for the bears ... and the bobcats!! And poison ivy!!
This image was very loosely inspired by one of my own original photos taken in the back yard of our tiny cabin at Blue Knob All Seasons Resort, Claysburg, PA. It was hand-painted, digitally, in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet, the art pen, and lots of beautiful brushes.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
