Description
As hurricane Jose roars up the East Coast toward the Outer Banks of North Carolina in September 2017, the churning waves and roiling clouds seem to be in competition for the crown of scariest natural element of the day.
Two beach lovers, apparently determined to enjoy their vacation at all costs, sit firmly in their canvas chairs, enjoying Mother Nature's show. An intrepid seagull keeps them company.
Image loosely based on one of my images captured at Corolla NC and digitally hand-painted in Corel 2018.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

I can see this as anyone's favorite. The waves' crest seems to be multi-dimensional and alive, while the patient gull seems to be pondering whether to continue waiting, or to take flight. A scene that could be part of a movie based on the terrors and beauty Nature. Wonderful scene!!

As we consider the storms in the world...it's good sometimes to bring it down to a level we can all understand. The power of the storm and how we are more an observer than in control of the outcome. Well done!l/f

PS, that one seagull watching them I find so interesting and taking part in the moment.

Thank you ... I had to leave the little guy in the image ... clever you for noticing him ... I don't think a lot of people do see him!!

Lois, I wish I were one of the viewers of this storm. I can smell the storm and the ocean waves in the special moment. What a great image. F/L/TW.
Lois Bryan replied:
Randy, thanks!!! that's my husband and son ... pretty much first day of vacation and in came the hurricane. My boys were determined to sit on the beach and enjoy the day, no matter what!! : )) I guess it must be a guy thing. 'Course I was right behind them with my camera.
