A majestic Great Blue Heron stands gracefully in shallow water, surrounded by lush greenery and casting a blurred reflection in the golden surface of the pond. The vibrant colors of the scene enhance the tranquil and natural setting.

Driving along a country road not far from our old house in Montgomery County, Maryland, I loved driving by a lovely, picturesque farm. Sometimes I'd catch a glimpse of beautiful horses romping through the pastures near the main house and barns. I'd almost always try to glance over at a lovely, tree-shaded pond, too. On more than one occasion a majestic Great Blue Heron stood at the edges of the waters as if beckoning me ... or daring me ... to pull over, grab my camera and come play. On a beautiful sunny June day in 2008, I did just that.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
