The ruins of the magnificent Erechtheion Temple atop the Athenian Acropolis overlook the city of Athens on a sunny summer day. Upholding the south porch are the beautiful Caryatids, statues of young ladies carrying baskets of fruit and walnuts on their heads as offerings to the gods of the temple, Athena, Zeus and Poseidon. They were created from 421 BC to 406 BC.

It's said that on that night, the remaining sisters of the stolen Caryatid cried, and that their sobs could be heard all over the city of Athens.
