Artist's Description
The courthouse in Colonial Williamsburg Virginia, as seen on a brilliant blue-sky autumn day, is a beautiful sight. Over the years, the structure, which was completed in 1771, underwent several changes in its uses as well as in its appearance.
It went from a courthouse in Colonial times and after, to a Confederate hospital during the Civil War, to a local government building for many years thereafter, a museum, and to its present life as a place of living history.
The look of the courthouse changed as well. Externally, nineteenth century renovations changed the style of the windows, added columns beneath the portico and changed the cupola, and in 1911 the devastation of a fire gutted the structure but left the brick shell intact.
Today it has been reconstructed, inside and out, to its original design.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper...

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a glitch in our system. The images in...
