Description
The maple tree at the edge of the field is ablaze with the oranges and golds and reds of the season. We've been looking forward to our walk in the woods this afternoon ... the haze in the distant fields has become thicker, the light from the afternoon sun diffused to a delicate glow. A wood fire back at the house lends a smokey fragrance that wafts us right back to our childhood. Autumns can be breathtaking, but so brief ... and can be fickle. Some years they're brilliant, eye popping reds and oranges and purples and yellows punctuated with greens against a rich blue sky .. though not always. But whether brilliant or subtle, autumn is always the dreaming time. The remembering time.

I seem to be on a tree theme lately ... several more just waiting to be uploaded. There's something about the graceful lines, the way the light filters and pulses through the openings and the translucent leaves that I love to try and capture.
Painted freehand digitally from my imagination in Corel Painter. Non photographic.
Not created using Artificial Intelligence / AI.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
