Description
Slope side rooms at the Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, offer views of the main lift that wisks you up into the sky, to the tops of the Rocky Mountains at Beaver Creek, Colorado. They also give a possible hint of what the weather might be that day. Those clouds say a perfect day on the slopes ... or ... will it start to snow again?
And if you've ridden that lift, you also know the views give you a taste of the fun you're about to have. What it doesn't show are the laughter and the screams ... not always of glee ... and the harrowing near misses experienced by the photographer on that long ago April day. The same photographer, by the way, who perfected the now-famous Pretzel Fall.
What a place.
Image captured in 2008 with my first digital camera, a tiny Olympus.

Purchases of products with my images will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation, fine art / wall art purchases will look their very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

I don't know what to say, Lois! Except Splendid! How did you create such a sense of depth with a mood that's like actually being at this winter location? L/F

Monte Arnold
Growing up next to ski hills, this image is pure sentimentality!!
Lois Bryan replied:
Oh Monte, I'll bet!!! Lucky you!!!!!! I'm glad you enjoyed this one ... it's a bit unusual for Bachelor Gulch images, but I thought it was fun!!
Jeff Burgess
Some one has been skiing. Love this capture and the post work.
Lois Bryan replied:
Oh Jeff ... I haven't skiied in years. Took a nasty fall and messed up my shoulder ... I decided I have better things to do with my body than throw it down a mountain!!!

Great capture and mood, makes me miss my old skiing days and trips! LF
Lois Bryan replied:
Thanks Angela ... I was scared out of my socks most of the time ... but it was fun (my fave part was the spa ... and the hot buttered rum out by the fire pit at nights ... and being in the heated pool outside in the snow!!!! Big fun!!!)

Lois, what a beautiful, perspective view of winter, with the housing and lifts and the thin trees up against the snow white hills, lovely!!! :D L/F
