Description
The title of this piece pretty much tells its own story ... The Things You Find.
I was up at our little ski cabin in Blue Knob, Claysburg, PA one wintery afternoon a few years ago and decided it was time to clear out the cabinet under the sink. I must have been very bored! Not sure how many years we'd owned the place by that time, but it had been a few. I'd thought we'd made a good sweep of the place before we started using it, but one never knows. The house was actually built in 1967, so if we missed anything, it could have been tucked away in one of those dark corners for a very long time..
Anyway, as I was hunting around under there I discovered these two beautiful old glass bottles. Of course I had all my camera gear with me, so I decided that a much better way to pass the afternoon would be a mini photo shoot. Another one of the images from that afternoon is offered here as well, "Old Timey Bottles" ... as straight photography.
"The Things You Find" is very loosely based on one of the images from that shoot, and was digitally hand-painted.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence programs.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

What a cool find and story, and you've presented these old bottles in very pleasing fashion, Lois! I like the setup with one lying down and the stopper open, and the smooth look of your processing is quite lovely. L/F
