The title of this piece pretty much tells its own story ... The Things You Find.
I was up at our little ski cabin in Blue Knob, Claysburg, PA one wintery afternoon a few years ago and decided it was time to clear out the cabinet under the sink. I must have been very bored! Not sure how many years we'd owned the place by that time, but it had been a few. I'd thought we'd made a good sweep of the place before we started using it, but one never knows. The house was actually built in 1967, so if we missed anything, it could have been tucked away in one of those dark corners for a very long time..
Anyway, as I was hunting around under there I discovered these two beautiful old glass bottles. Of course I had all my camera gear with me, so I decided that a much better way to pass the afternoon would be a mini photo shoot. Another one of the images from that afternoon is offered here as well, "Old Timey Bottles" ... as straight photography.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
