Description
It's a frigid December morning and, bundled in our warm jackets and hats, we gaze across the deep blue water at New Hampshire's glorious White Mountains. The snow-covered heights surrounding Franconia Notch rise above the rich expanse of amethyst that is Profile Lake.
In the distance dawn's light raises the mists from the mountains, for all the world like the dancing spirits of the Algonquian and the Iroquois, who lived here so long ago.
This image was sketched from an image I took several years ago. Very, very loosely based. The image was shot in late summer ... in the afternoon. Lots of artistic license applied ... time of year, time of day, color, light ... as well as playing with the composition and flow of the mountains' ridges themselves.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
