Description
A tiny ruby-throated humming bird, so small that he almost seems like a big jeweled bug, darts around the corner and zips near a fragrant full-blown pink flower ... either a very old rose or large peony ... at the gardens of historic Beallair in Charles Town, WV. He sees us ... stops in mid swoosh ... and hovers. Staring right at us, we can almost see his tiny mind trying to decide if it's safe to sample the tasty nectar offered by the blossoms, or should he play it safe and ... with an audible buzz ... whisk away into the distance.
Image very loosely sketched from two of my own photographs and hand-painted, digitally, in Corel Painter with a great variety of brushes using the Wacom Tablet Intuos 4 and Art Pen. Btw ... if you're viewing from your phone or other device that allows this, zoom in on Birdie's little face ... the expression of surprise is such fun!!!
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence programs.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
