Description
The tiniest of fluffy kittens seems to have escaped the warm cozy box full of brothers and sisters and mom's watchful gaze to see what she can see of the big world. Her eyes full of wonder, there's a hint of fraidy-cat-ness ... but hope is there, too! Wishing her a life filled with love and gentle treatment ... and lots of treats and catnip!!
This is another version of a favorite of mine, "Little Lost Kitten" ... also available here. I wanted to give her a lighter, softer look. Loosely sketched and painted from a snap I took at the Juniata Crossing Mercantile, one of my all time favorite shops in Juniata Pennsylvania, between Breezewood and Bedford. She was comfortably warming herself in front of an old fashioned iron / wood stove on a crisp fall afternoon.
I took much artistic license with the photos which were gently used to get the story started on this image. It was sketched and hand-painted, digitally, and very loosely inspired by two of my own images. Painted in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet, the art pen, and a wide variety of beautiful brushes including some of the new "thick paint" technology.

Rachel thank you!!! I adore kittens ... they used to be a part of life when i was a kid, it seems. Now I see them only rarely and when I do, out comes the camera!!!
