Description
On a visit to beautiful Winterthur, the former Delaware home of the DuPont family, I discovered this beautiful tree along one of the main roads through the grounds. Even though we were there during mid-September, the trees' colors were only on the edge of deciding to change. I'd love to go back when this particular Japanese Maple is in its full autumn dress! Even so, I thought the lines of the trunk and branches were very graceful.
Photographic image captured with the Nikon D7000 and the Nikkor 18-200mm vr lens. Edits in Photoshop CS6 and Corel Painter 11 for a fun chalk / painterly version. The slubs and bumps are intentional.

There is great movement and energy in this image, Lois, and I like this beauty's gnarly branches and its large, cascading limb on the right. And I see this is another find from a visit to Winterthur. What a treasure trove of delights that must be!! v and tw

This is stunning. I adore trees and this is a beauty. Just love your style. I'm sure the leaves were amazing when they turned, but it is also beautiful in greens. like/fav
