Description
It's a glorious August morning ... the sunshine warms you down to your soul ... the air is clean and clear, the humidity isn't frizzing your hair, and from deep in the woods you hear the call of song birds and the first, early cricket begins to sing. You take off your shoes and wade into the pond, ankle deep, feeling the crunch of the gravel between your bare toes and the chill of the water like an icy tickle. A breeze blows through your hair and waves the shadows of the trees on the staircase, making them dance.
It just doesn't get any better.
I really enjoyed my visit to Winterthur ... the gardens, even in deepest summer, were beautifully kept. One of my favorite parts was all these fun little garden "follies." Though it's mostly hidden by the crepe myrtle from this angle, I hope you can get a sense of how unique and fun the roof-line on this one in particular was.
Image hand-painted, digitally, and very loosely based on one of my own original photographic images. Lots of creative license taken. Painted in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet, the art pen, and a wide assortment of beautiful brushes.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag.
