Description
Very grateful that "Vanity Fair" tied for third place in the 6/29/2022 contest "An Arrangement of Cut Flowers With a Book or Books." Many thanks to the contest administrator, Lesley Evered and everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!!
A couple of old, dried up roses resting on a volume of an even older book catch the late afternoon sun. Tossed carelessly on a soft, hand-knitted wool afghan, long since eaten to shreds by moths, the roses seem to come alive again in the watery winter light.
My read-between-the-lines comment on the atrocities taking place in the Ukraine at this time ... February, 2022.
Image very loosely based on a photo I took many years ago, 2008, and digitally hand-painted in Corel Painter 2019.
This image was NOT created by AI - Artificial Intelligence.
Product as well as fine art and purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
