Honored that "When The Azaleas Are In Bloom" won second place in the 4/5/2022 contest "Hooray For Spring" hosted by the Camera Art group. Many thanks to the contest administrator, Luther Fine Art and everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!
It's a glorious sunny May day and the Azalea Gardens at Brighton Dam in Montgomery County, Maryland are at their finest. The colors and soft breezes, the chirps of the birdies and the gentle lapping of the waters of Tridelphia Lake all conspire to put us into a dreamy mood. I love the way the bright pinks and peaches, crimsons and whites and purples of the blossoms contrast so brilliantly against the deep greens of the forest trees and the blues of the lake and sky. A visit here is not to be missed if you're in the area sometime around Mother's Day each year, when the azaleas are in bloom.
This image is a square cropped version of an old favorite, "The Path Along The Lake."
This image has been hand-painted, digitally, using my own original photographs (not from stock or "public domain") as loose guides, in Corel Painter.
