One of my favorite trees is the lovely white birch. Their shape is always so graceful and their striking bright white trunks and limbs truly emphasize their form in all seasons of the year.
This particular tree is by the side of a country road in rural Maryland and whenever I pass it, I always slow down a little and take a moment to enjoy its beauty.
Image taken with the Nikon D40x in May of 2008. Treated to some fun in Photoshop CS5 and 6 (NOT the cloud!) and Corel Painter 11 to create the hint of a painterly version you see here, and a couple of other programs, as well as a couple of textures from Florabella and 2 'Lil Owls.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
