So happy that "World's Best Cake" won 2nd place in the 6/27/2023 contest "Only Chocolate Creations" held by the Creative Food Photography group. Many thanks to contest administrator, Emmie Norfolk, and everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!
The world's best cake is the one pictured right here. It comes from The Creekside Inn near Claysburg, PA. I think this slice was from my birthday a few years ago. Back in the day, we used to call chocolate cake "devil's food cake." i suppose it's politically incorrect to call it that now?? I dunno ...
Over the years we've had our little cabin in the area, I've had a slice of this cake more than once. Sometimes I eat it a bite or maybe two bites a day ... and stretch the enjoyment out over several days.
But.
Sometimes. Sometimes I eat it all at once.
When that happens, I like to say "the devil made me do it."

Yum, and I just started a diet! :) But I would never be able to eat this just one bite or two a day...you much have a lot of willpower! I have wanted to try that restaurant, wish I had before the pandemic. LF

Angela, I should send you a PM ... sadly, Creekside has changed ownership and their dinner selection, which was enormous, is limited now ... AND ... no more of this amazing chocolate cake!!! WAAAHHHH!!!!! And no, I haven't been by since the pandemic ... sigh ...
