For many of us, the charm of going back in time, even if it's just in our imaginations, is the fantasy and longing for a simpler time. Walking the lanes and alleyways of beautiful Williamsburg, Virginia you can't help but feel that you've been released from your everyday and are now indeed, back in time.
In the case of this summery image, beneath the lovely vine covered gazebo and behind the trim white fencing, we get a glimpse of a brick well. I prefer to believe that it's a magical wishing well. At my grandparent's farm there was a well. Their beautiful old house did not have electricity or indoor plumbing, so the well, which was actually quite a hike from the house, was a very important part of the running of the household. And yes, it was a magical wishing well.
And it was a simpler time.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
