A break in a killer heatwave brought my husband and doggie and me out into the lovely Virginia countryside. We stopped at Fields Of Flowers, in Purcellville VA ... a wonderful farm where visitors come to pick their own bouquets!! I spent my time snapping, not flower stems, but pictures.
This sweet dahlia is just getting started spreading her petal wings to the lovely sunshine. She picked a good day to start ... the temperatures, instead of being in the 100+'s ... were only in the 80's. Gorgeous day ... gorgeous images!!!
Straight photography captured with the Nikon D750 and the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 ... practically straight from the camera (for once!).

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
