A tiny Maltese dog looks up at us with hope in his eyes. He's had a long day of play ... of chasing toys and butterflies, of sniffing blades of grass and fire hydrants, of attacking human ankles (they are the enemy, you know), and ... dear heaven ... enduring the dreaded bath. With a full tummy and the sun setting in the windows to the west, he knows it's time for his humans to settle into their favorite chairs and for him to take up his assigned and honored place on their laps.It's a wonderful thing how each breed follows their internal guidelines. The Maltese for example, is an excellent watch dog. Not a guard dog (well, most aren't ... this one is an exception) ... but they are bred to let the household know when the delivery man comes by or when someone is out walking their own dog in the street. Or an overly large bird visits the wreath on the front door. But as a watch dog, they will not, usually, attack. There are exceptions to the rule. But the other prominent, more end...

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others where there"s always something new to discover and learn. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
