An expressive, impressionistic vision of three dogwood blossoms glowing in the darkness of a soft spring night. How many times my parents tried to transplant a wild dogwood tree from the forests around my grandparents' farm to our little house in the suburbs, I'm not sure. And how many dogwoods did my husband and I try to get to thrive in our own home, I'm not sure either.
But these guys do thrive in dense forests ... with no one to fertilize them ... no one watering them ... no one talking to them and encouraging them. Out there, alone, they thrive.
Of course the title suggests that these guys bloom only at night, which isn't really true. And maybe they don'...
Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
