Honored that "Red Roof Barn In Autumn" tied for first place (or came in 2nd? or came in 3rd?) out of 539 images in the 10/2/2024 contest "Autumn Sketches" held by the Intent Of The Artist group. Many thanks to contest administrator, Marine B Rosemary, and everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!
That "lost and alone" thing that John Denver sings about in one of my favorite songs, is my favorite way to spend the day. In this case, it wasn't "some forgotten highway," as in his wonderful "Sweet Surrender" (which is playing right now) but a lovely windy country road in beautiful Loudon County, Virginia. The scene before me captured my heart so entirely, that I've already created and added two other versions to my gallery here. One is a summer scene (Red Roof Barn), and one "vintage" (Vintage Red Roof Barn ... pastel-y and springy). All are of Paris Barns at Liberty Farm in Paris Virginia.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced.
