A perfect story-book farm, with its neat-as-a-pin red-roof barn and silver silo, so typical of the countryside of Virginia, is all tucked in for the winter.
The first snow here in the East Coast can be feet deep or gentle baby-flakes sifting down from the heavens like so many feathers and provide no more than a dusting to the land. We listen to the weather guys and bring up the latest info on our cell phone apps, but the truth of the matter is, until it's over and the inches or feet have been tallied up, we never know what we'll be in for.
And so those first flakes, be they feather- or snow-ball-size, bring on giggles of glee from the school children, groans of dismay from the parents, and sly smiles from the store merchants whose shelves will soon be denuded of milk and toilet paper.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
