February 19, 2015 marks the beginning of the Year Of The Goat in the Chinese Zodiac. It's also known as the Year Of The Sheep and Year Of The Ram. According to www.ChinaHighlights, individuals born under this sign are "calm, creative, thoughtful, amicable, persevering, frank and honest." Their best careers would be pediatrician, actor, teacher, interior designer, musician and editor.
This delightful and friendly fellow (I'm not 100% sure he's a goat, but I'm pretty sure he is!) is a resident of the wonderful Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo located in Thurmont, Maryland. I captured his image with the Nikon D300 and the 150-500mm OS Sigma lens in late April, 2012. He lives in the petting zoo and loved the attention he got from visitors there. Image treated to a few tweaks in Camera Raw and Photoshop CS6, plus the addition of a couple of textures from 2 Lil Owls.

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
