Lois Bryan replied:

Linda, right?? I made my husband stop the car and back up. It really was a great optical illusion ... it did have me wondering!!! I was glad the illusion came out in the photo, too.

Awwwww, Mom and calf?

Lois Bryan replied:

Scott, you know what ... I have no idea. You might be right, the head on the right seems a little bit smaller, there's less fur (hair?) and the horns are different.

Artist's Description

An early April afternoon drive in the farmland of Central Pennsylvania can present surprises. But a two-headed bison? No ... it can't be ....

Up a gentle slope from the road we see farm animals that we're not used to finding in the East. A small herd of bison peacefully grazing and dozing in the gentle warmth of the spring afternoon is definitely not something we expect every day. Especially one with two heads ... but ... that's probably just a trick of the light, right?

Image captured in April of 2012 with the Nikon D300 and the Sigma 150-500mm.

This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence.

Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a glitch in our system. The images in...
