A corner on Main Street of a beautiful Pennsylvania town, Schellsburg, in early springtime, 2012. I fell in love with the wonderful rich red bricks, the tulips, but also the wonderful peeling paint on the white shutters. The faded painted sign, A. W. Colvin Dry goods brings to mind a wonderful place that must have been the hub of activity of the town once upon a time. I haven't yet been back to see if the store is still open ... but I really would like to know "How much is that bunny in the window"?? Also ... cool antlers in the smaller window as well!!!
Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens on April 7, 2012 ... from the car window as we stopped for the only street light in town. Much editing in many programs, including Photomatic Pro, Photoshop CS4 and CS5, Adobe Camera Raw and some hand painting in Corel Painter 11.
Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally.
