Description
A brilliantly orange / tangerine tulip soaking up the last of a spring-time sunset is aglow against the warm golds of the historic old building it was planted next to (between Harper's Ferry and Charles Town WV). The expression of encouragement to "bloom where you're planted" was never truer than here.
I named this piece "Tangerine Tulip In A Twirly Tizzy" not just because I love alliterations (which I do, lol) but because by the time I finally decided to add this image to my collection, I was in a tizzy as well. I'd gone through about 30+ versions ... with hours spent on each. Trying out new techniques is big fun ... but can also mean big frustrations!!!
This particular version, one of the 30+ mind you, is a take-off from a previously added image to my portfolio here, "Tulip In Flames," and which can be found in my "Flowers and Gardens" collection.
I do love bright colors!!
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Lois, sometimes it takes endless work to make a painting look "just right " and effortless . You succeeded...the brushstrokes and edges of the petals are perfect !
