Description
A brilliant red barn sits solidly among its fields on a glorious summer's evening. The light from the soon to be setting sun is casting shadows and lighting lights in the leaves of the corn stalks that all just make your heart smile. Above, the skies are filled with puffy altocumulus clouds that will soon turn all the shades of oranges and pinks and purples. But for right now, for right now ... the deep blues are just right.
Several years ago I was driving along PA Route 220, somewhere south west of Bedford, PA ... the radio turned up high, me singing along. It was a gentle summer's evening and I was traveling the long way home up to the cabin in Pennsylvania. My eyes were drawn to the left to the scene of a glowing ruby-red old barn and the glimmers of emeralds and golds in the corn field beyond it. I pulled over and brazenly walked up the driveway and took some snaps with the Nikon, which I like to keep on the passenger's seat beside me.
So many years later, this is the result.
Image hand-painted, digitally, and very loosely based on two of my own photos. Painted in Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet, the art pen, and lots of beautiful brushes.
This image was NOT created by using AI - Artificial Intelligence.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Lois. There's truth and beauty in the lighted foreground against that brooding dark sky. I've seen the same effect in NM. many times. It never grows old ! Very Nice !
Lois Bryan replied:
Brian, thank you ,... I've been out in the car, seen the light doing this thing with the darkness in the distance and the foreground lit up ... and made myself crazy to find just the right thing to snap in that amazing, fleeting, rare light!!! I got lucky with this one!!
