Description
The magnificent Capitol building at Colonial Williamsburg as seen from Duke of Gloucester Street on a fine summer morning is always an inspiration. The warm reds of the old bricks contrast beautifully against the green trees which frame it and the brilliant blue sky above. Completed in 1705, the legislature actually moved in and got to work a year earlier. It was constructed by Henry Cary, who built the Wren building at the College of William & Mary.
This image was captured in September of 2017 with the Nikon D7000 and my favorite walking around lens, the Nikkor 18-200mm.
Fine art and product purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... wall art of this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Beautiful capture, Lois! I usually go to CW several times a year, but when the summers are as hot as this year I rarely go. I'm very much looking forward to some fall captures!
