Description
A single white rose, set off against an earthy gold background, looks almost blue in the softest of morning light.
One of my favorite lines from The Glass Menagerie was Laura, saying:
When I had that attack of pleurosis — he asked me what was the matter when I came back. I said pleurosis — he thought that I said Blue Roses! So that's what he always called me after that. Whenever he saw me, he'd holler, “Hello, Blue Roses!”
Even though blue roses don't exist in nature, in my imagination, I always see them just like this. Digitally hand painted in Rebelle with watercolor brushes, using one of my own original photos (not from stock or public domain) as a loose base and guide, with a generous helping of imagination. From a lovely bouquet of birthday flowers from my husband.
