Description
Honored and thrilled to announce that "Hallowed Hall" came in 3rd place in the Fine Art America contest "Only Arches" sponsored by the "Arches - For Artists and Buyers" group, administered by Lisa Lemmons-Powers 11/10/17. My most sincere thanks to Lisa and to everyone who voted for my image ... and especial congratulations to the other winners.
After snapping cherry blossoms all day, we made our way over to the Hard Rock Cafe for a late lunch. I forget how interesting Washington DC can be, and had some fun ducking into unusual spots for a quick capture. This building is, I believe, part of the Post Office and is directly across the street from the Old Post Office Pavilion.
NOTE: FINE ART AMERICA WATERMARK WILL NOT APPEAR ON PURCHASED IMAGE.

Lois ~ This is an absolutely stunning image beautifully rendered. This doorway in the Barrio El Convento has been the subject of countless photos and painting by artists and tourists alike. It's only 6 blocks from my house. Thanks you for entering it in my contest Photographic Scenes From Tucson 5/13 - 5/27/18.

Is this in the Vatican?
Lois Bryan replied:
Hi Carl, no ... I don't know what happened to the description ... didn't realize it had disappeared. It's part of the Old Post Office Pavilion in Washington DC. Thanks, by the way, for pointing this out. I'll re-add the info.
