Description
A glossy Rhode Island Red hen, the proud mom of quite a clutch of baby chicks, gazes over at us with a watchful eye. Tucked away in a corner of the dark barn, her little ones, fresh from their cozy egg shells, gather near for warmth and comfort. Soon they'll be scooting around the farm yard, pecking away at any hapless insect that crosses their paths. Learning the ins and outs of country etiquette, like what to do when the farmer's wife stops by to scatter their meals and which of their siblings they can nose out when it's time to chow down, is of paramount importance. When you're a chicken, these things matter.
This image was hand-painted digitally in Corel Painter with a wide variety of brushes on a Wacom Tablet and art pen ... loosely based on one of my own photos taken at a beautiful farm in rural Pennsylvania, not far from Harrisburg.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

You sure nailed those fluffy chicks, Lois. Nice contrast with the texture of the hen's feathers. Beautiful work! L/F
