So happy to announce that "A Beautiful Mystery" tied for first place (came in first? came in second?) in the 8/3/2020 Fine Art America contest "Arch Doorways Only" held by the Amazing Challenges Group. Many thanks to the group administrator, Ann Warrenton, and everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners!!

My sincere thanks to everyone who voted for my image and to the group host, Bob Lentz. Congratulations to the other nominated image artists as well ... these were all gorgeous!!!
You approach the courtyard with mixed feelings. You've been dreading this day ... what awaits you beyond the doors is anybody's guess.
It's an incredibly beautiful spring afternoon ... one of those days that exemplifies what spring should always be ... cornflower blue skies, blooming flowers, soft fragrant breezes, the sweet songs of birds, the sunlight golden and soft like the hand of friendship on your shoulder. As if the occasion that brought you here, which fills you with uncertainty and apprehension, were a mere nothing.
Gently, the surroundings nudge your spirits ... make you want to take a deep breath of good air into yourself ... and you feel your heart begin to rise.
Well, things usually have a way of turning out for the better when you give them a chance, don't they.
Here we go.
Image painted by hand, digitally, and very loosely based on two of my own photos using Corel Painter 2018, a Wacom tablet the art pen stylus and many beautiful digital brushes.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."
