Description
Spring means a lot of things. It means warmer temperatures, birds singing in blue skies, weddings, bugs, but for a lot of us it mostly means flowers. There are lots of them popping up through the earth and popping out on tree and shrub branches. My personal spring flower favorite is daffodils. Or jonquils ... I have been known to mix them up. In the home I grew up in, the garden was bordered by daffodils. My mom would bring them into the house by the armload ... fill up vases ... and arrange them all over the house. To this day, when I see their sunny golden daffy glow and get a whiff of their fragrance, I'm taken back ... and I'm a kid again.
"Daffodils" was hand drawn, freehand, in Corel Painter with a tablet and only two brushes. Unlike many of my images, there was no photo reference whatsoever.

Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

Absolutely love these beautiful daffodils, Lois! Love the genteel colors, "blank" background and the simplicity of them with nothing competing for the viewers' attention. Nicely done! LF
