Wow! October sunshine warmth.....it all seems so far away now....a very pleasing, simple autumn scenic! L&F

My Grandfather farmed with horses and I remember as a child riding on the hay rake, seated on the little tool box mounted on the tongue between his knees as we quietly made our way through the fields rolling the new mown hay into long fluffy ribbons. It was a quiet way to farm and I miss it.
Lois Bryan replied:
Oh , Christian ... thank you so much for sharing that beautiful memory ... I can see it in my mind's eye!!

Lois my friend you do have an eye for beauty and composition, no doubt about it! -L-

There is something about a field with hay bales that is comforting and friendly. Can't resist them myself if there is a camera at hand. I'd like to go rest up against one of those and snooze for awhile :-) Lovely capture Lois. f/l
Lois Bryan replied:
Chris, I'm the same way!!! But do you remember the days before the hay bales when there were fields filled with the old fodder-shocks? I miss seeing those so much!!!!! And yes, this would have been the perfect day for a snooze under the sun!!!

Nice shot, Lois! All the elements of my favourite time of the year. You even included a milkweed! :)
Lois Bryan replied:
Steve, thanks so much!!! Sharp eyes, my friend ... yes, there are lots of milkweed up here!!! Glad you enjoyed this one!!

This has that wonderful warm feeling that I just want to lay down on the grass on the hill, stare up in the sky and watch the clouds roll by. Excellent!

Lois, wonderful subject and perspective; love the color contrast with the lush grass, deep blue sky and white clouds. vote
Lois Bryan replied:
thanks so much, Geoff ... it was such a glorious day!!! I was so happy to be out and about in it with my camera!!
Allison Ashton
Love that green against the blue sky, Lois! wow those clouds! How high up are you when you took this?
Lois Bryan replied:
thanks so much Allison ... I'm not sure, but I'd say judging from what I know the altitude of our cabin to be, and the altitude of a small town not too far away, I'd say about 2,000 feet. Not too wild and crazy by Rocky Mountain standards, but not bad for us.

Oh my, in view of this, October would be lovely right about now! I feel especially drawn somehow to the cumulous cloud peaking up from the horizon! Added my FL, of course!
Lois Bryan replied:
Thanks, Kathi ... yes, I worked to get those clouds just right ... you should have seen me scrambling up that hill to get everything lined up just so ... you'd have laughed!!
