Description
Very happy to announce that "Morning Mists In The Mountains" won First Place out of 602 images in the Fine Art America contest "TFGA SERIES-NATURE VISTAS ALL MEDIA" 3/4/2020. Sincere thanks to the contest administrator, Laurel Adams, and to everyone who voted for my image. Congratulations to the other winners.
We've been following the old wooden fence line for a while when suddenly the view opens up to a glimpse of another dimension. Autumn mornings on top of Blue Knob Mountain in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands can be a magical time. The burnished rusts of the fields and grasses contrast perfectly with the blues of the ranges of mountains in the distance. But most surprisingly, at 3,000 feet elevation sometimes we see clouds both above and below us. As the slowly climbing sun does his job warming the lands, cape, the mists in the valley lift to join their puffy cousins in the skies. Even at our feet, the ghosts of last night's early snow whisp up into the atmosphere like the rising souls of those who've gone before here in these ancient mountains. It's morning ... time for all to rise and shine.
Image created from one of my own photos at Blue Knob All Seasons Resort located in Claysburg, PA. Sketched lightly and digitally hand-painted with the exciting new Bob Ross Brushes in Corel Painter 2018 on a Wacom Intuos tablet and art pen.
This image was NOT created using AI - Artificial Intelligence programs.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... it will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

This is beatifully done, Lois. Everything is so appealing....the composition, the textures, the subject and the tiny birds.

Anne, thank you … it's one of my favorites. It's the view from the top of Blue Knob Mountain … and it's such a treat to look down on the clouds on those rare days!!! Especially when the day includes both fall colors and a bit of snow from the night before!!!
