A brilliant Northern Cardinal hangs on tight to his tree branch on a snowy windy day. Winter can bring unexpected weather shifts and the gusty cold can make life miserable for all our wildlife friends … but the misery of the little birdies always goes right to my heart.
Image sketched and painted by hand, digitally, and very loosely based on one of my own photos using Corel Painter, a Wacom tablet, the art pen stylus and a wide variety of beautiful digital brushes.

I'd say this little guy has reached his LCD moment...lowest common denominator...in life where all he can do is hang on, pray, and cope! But he won't give in or give up. He's like Job!

Don't worry ... right to the right is a giant bird feeder filled with his favorite seeds!! Where he is right now, he's waiting his turn to hop over and grab lunch. Right below him are boxwoods where he can tuck in and get out of the snow!!!
