So happy to announce that "Those Fresh Spring Mornings" ... though coming in 2nd in number of votes, is actually the Winner in the Fine Art America contest "Second Is First AKA Silver Is The New Gold" hosted by the "Drips, Dots or Drops" group 2/25/18. My thanks to the administrator, Daniel Solone and to all who voted for my image. Of course, congratulations to the other winners as well!!!!!

We've all done it ... headed out to the car on one of those fresh spring mornings, our hands filled with books or briefcases or hot coffee in a go-cup and our minds on our plans for the day ahead of us. Suddenly, just as the door slams behind us, or the garage door lumbers up we become aware of something else. Something magic.

Even if it's only for a brief second or two that we stop and take in the everyday beauty all around us ... that vision of a fresh spring morning ... the pastels and the flutters of the breezes, the delicate flowers and songs of the happy birds ... even if it's just for the tiniest, most brief of moments, that mental snap-shot can carry us through to a beautiful day ... if we let it.

Since winter seems to want to skip us this year, I find my thoughts wending to spring. "Those Fresh Spring Mornings" is another version of a previously added image ... "Beallair In Bloom" ... this one more delicate and early-morning-ish-feelling. I like both.

Image loosely based on a photo I took at the historic Beallair Mansion in Charles Town, WV.
